ABOUT US
About our daycare
Chinatown Day Care Center has been serving the community since 1975. We are a nonprofit community-based preschool center with more than 50 years experience in the education field. It offers pre-school education to children from low-income and working families. In order to achieve this goal, our tuition is kept at the lowest level and school hours are extended to accommodate parents’ long working hours. Our wait list is always long; parents apply to our Center right after giving birth. Families have come to expect us to deliver high-quality education and exceptional care. Each year, many of our Pre-kindergarten graduates who took the Gifted and Talented (G&T) Exam scored 90 and above, including some who have received perfect scores of 99 as well. We are tremendously proud of these hardworking students and all our graduates and former students. We aim to provide developmentally-appropriate programs for young children that fosters the whole child, respect each child as an individual, and stimulate the child’s natural interest in and enjoyment of learning. The program is based on early childhood theories and accepted practices developed in the field of early childhood education. Based on Piaget’s findings of how children’s processes of learning from ages 2 through 5 years old are critical to the foundation of formal learning, our main goal is to help foster the development of young children in all aspects – the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual skills.
